Brick Country House


The Brick Country House, also known as the Bacardi Office Building, is a modernist building located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was designed by the German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1959 and completed in 1960. The building is considered an important example of Mies’s work and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Brick Country House is a one-story building with a flat roof and a rectangular plan. It is constructed of red brick and is set on a raised platform, which creates a covered public space underneath. The building has a simple, minimalist design, with large glass windows and a steel frame.
