Vila Tugendhat

Vila Tugendhat is a modernist villa located in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It was designed by the German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and built between 1929 and 1930. The building is considered an important example of Mies’s work and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Vila Tugendhat is a two-story building with a flat roof and a simple rectangular plan. It is constructed of concrete, steel, and glass, and has a minimalist, functionalist design. The building is set on a hillside and is oriented to take advantage of the views of the surrounding landscape. The exterior of the building is clad in white marble, which gives it a sleek and modern appearance. The interior of the building is open and flexible, with a central living room that can be partitioned off with sliding glass doors. The building is surrounded by a landscaped garden and has a carport.
