Pavilhão de vidro

Het Pavilhão de Vidro (Portuguese for “Glass Pavilion”) is a modernist glass building located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It was designed by the Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi in 1951 and is considered an important example of her work. The building is also known as the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP).
The Pavilhão de Vidro is a rectangular building with a steel frame and a glass curtain wall. The glass walls are supported by thin steel columns, which give the building an open and transparent appearance. The building is set on a raised platform, which creates a covered public space underneath. The interior of the building is open and flexible, with a large central gallery space that can be used for exhibitions and events. The building is decorated with colorful tiles, which are a characteristic of Bo Bardi’s work. The Pavilhão de Vidro is an influential work of modern architecture and has been widely imitated. It is often cited as an example of the use of the International Style in Brazil.
